Dave Mills Continental Drift Days 8-9...Sitrep

Moved into the Union Jack Club in London, which is a hotel that can be used by any serving or ex member of the British Military and is right in the centre of London.

I'm using the next 2 days to relax and sort out any kit issues I have, but also to catch up with Andrea before I move onto the continent next week. We had a great night Friday during which we went to the Comedy Store in Leicester Square and laughed our nuts & tits off respectively!

On Saturday we met up with Parker Jon. For those of you unfamiliar with ‘Parker Jon’, he has been a kind of part time travel partner, who has joined me for some or parts of my previous drifts. If you want to get a feel for the type of person he is, please have a read of the “Euros’ blog on this website, which details our trip following England through the 2016 European Championships.

To briefly sum Parker Jon up;-  he looks like the ex England captain ‘Alan Shearer’, he has all the grace of an atomic blast and the thought processing speed of concrete. He is however a true nutter and is the ideal bag of moral to have with you when on the road.

As per anytime I meet up with him, we did the only thing that seems natural when together, which is to get a little bit drunk. So the afternoon was spent, predominantly in Covent Garden, with Me, Andrea and the life form that is Parker Jon, getting thoroughly blasted and becoming thoroughly skint, due to the extortionate prices they charge in such places!.

Andrea eventually headed home due to work commitments and the last I saw of Parker Jon, he was dragging his knuckles along the kerb, looking for a kebab to pick a fight with.

Today (Sunday) I did a live website interview this morning which you can see on the link below

The rest of today is just updating the website, hoping to get Avebury and Stonehenge onto the ‘Forgotten past’ Page, chilling and getting ready to move on Monday towards Dover and the rest of the world.
